What is happening?: Please be aware of a national issue affecting some older Apple iPhone models after updating to iOS 16.7.13 (released 26 January 2026). Impacted devices may experience problems making or receiving calls, including calls to Triple Zero (000).
Devices that may be impacted include: iPhone 8 iPhone 8 Plus iPhone X (when updated to iOS 16.7.13)
Apple is investigating and has advised customers not to update to iOS 16.7.13 at this time.
What should customers do?: Check the iOS version via Settings > General > About > Tap iOS version to see the iOS version number
In line with Apple's current guidance, customers may choose to revert their device to iOS 16.7.12, which may resolve the issue. Customers should contact Apple Support for technical support and guidance related to this issue.
